Andy has been on horseback since he was old enough to walk, and started leading trail rides at the age of nine, from his family’s dude ranch near Waterloo, Iowa. He’ll lead you on a real trail ride, up secluded elk trails that wind around wooded mountain terrain. As the horses wind their way through stands of trees, over fallen logs and across creeks, they head to the mountain peak for breathtaking 85-mile view!
This is not a typical head-to-tail trail ride.
Personable and charming, Andy was awarded the “Quality Community Service Award” from the State of South Dakota.

“…this ride is different – you follow the Elk trails through the trees – it is more hilly, natural and beautiful with a lot more Aspen trees and deer than other rides in the middle to southern hills. From the top point you can see to the end of the hills in North Dakota and over into Wyoming. The horses are energetic and want to get up and go – there are some very steep inclines and declines that they trot up no problems. Absolutely beautiful views and scenery… Whether a beginner or advanced rider he has trips of all kinds. If you want the “real deal” for trail rides hook up with Andy – you won’t be disappointed.” [TripAdvisor comment] Omaha, NE
“I want to thank you for the great experience. The two girls that took us out were WONDERFUL. You did a great job picking them to represent you and your company. They were knowledgeable, polite and very helpful.” John, Greencastle, PA
“…Andy was so sweet and patient. His horses have such great personality and are so tame. Forget the spa for relaxation, this is the best. and most beautiful views all around. Any trip to see the “real” black hills would not be complete without Andy, He truly represents how great the Black Hills are…” [TripAdvisor comment] Las Vegas, NV
